Plonk is a finger chooser for iPhone. Everyone puts a finger on the screen and Plonk picks who goes first, the order everyone goes in, or the teams.

How it works

  • Everyone puts one finger on the screen. Two fingers are enough to start.
  • Plonk asks everyone to hold still for a moment, so anyone late can still join, then counts down.
  • If someone lifts a finger or a new finger lands during the countdown, Plonk starts the countdown again.
  • When the countdown ends, Plonk shows the result. Lift your fingers, then put them down again to play another round.

Modes

Choose a mode at the bottom of the screen before a round.

  • Who’s first picks one finger.
  • Order numbers every finger. Number 1 goes first.
  • Teams shares everyone out evenly into 2, 3 or 4 teams. Same letter, same team. You need at least as many fingers as teams.

Settings

Tap the gear at the top right of the screen.

  • Sounds: a plonk for each finger and a tick for each second. Silent mode keeps it quiet.
  • Words both ways up: shows the words the other way up as well, for the people sitting across the table.
  • Dark table: a dark screen that is easier on the eyes in a dim room.
  • Countdown: 2, 3 or 5 seconds.

Plonk remembers these settings on your iPhone between launches.

Questions

Why did it say “Too many fingers!”?

An iPhone can only feel five fingers at once. When a sixth finger lands, the iPhone lets go of every finger. Lift all your fingers, then up to five of you go again.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app has no network connection of any kind, so it works the same with or without signal.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 17 or later.

Are there in-app purchases?

No. Plonk is a one-off purchase with no in-app purchases, no ads and no subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does the app collect my data?
